- Mason Jars
Hi! It’s Ginger from GingerSnapCrafts.com, and I’m excited to be here today showing you how to make these cute & easy baby footprint mason jars using Americana 3D Opaque Gloss Enamels paint.
When I first had this idea I thought these would make adorable baby shower drink cups! Wouldn’t they be so cute at a baby shower? Then I thought these would also make great storage jars for all those baby supplies after the baby is here! Wouldn’t they be cute up on a shelf in a baby nursery! So this project is a two for one! Yay! ;)
Now you may be wondering how I got that many baby footprints! ;) No, no babies are used for this project. ha! That could get a little messy! All you’ll need is the side of your hand (or your kiddos’) hand & then some paint!
You’ll use the side of your hand to stamp the “foot”, & then just use your fingertips to make the toes. Make the big toe a little bigger & then get smaller as you go down! So easy!
Looks like a real baby footprint, doesn’t it?
Before you stamp your footprints onto your jar, clean your jar with some rubbing alcohol. Then stamp your footprints right onto your jar.
Now, to make these jars dishwasher safe, so you can use them over & over again. You’ll simply wait 4 days after you paint them, and then you’ll stick them in a non-preheated 325 degree oven for 30 minutes.
Cool the jars with the oven door open, and then you’re done! Just a note, the paint shouldn’t come in contact with food. So just paint on the outside of the jar if you are using these as drink cups.
Now you are ready to use your jars as drink cups or as storage jars or both! :)
