"Be Thankful" Pumpkin Wreath

Use half of a Styrofoam pumpkin and Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics to create a festive fall wreath.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- stylus or pencil
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- #3 round brush
- burlap ribbon
- small round detail brush
- Ashland grapevine wreath
- #0 script liner brush
- floral wire
- drill gun
- foam half pumpkin
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Use a damp paper towel to clean the half pumpkin surface.
- Use the tracing and transfer papers to transfer "Be Thankful" to the pumpkin.
- Using a small, round detail brush, apply a coat of Brown Sugar to the lettering. Repeat with a second coat, If needed, allowing paint to dry completely between coats.
- Using the same brush, apply Yellow Gold to the lettering. (This may take several coats; let the paint dry completely between coats.)
- Using a script liner brush, add shadows to the lettering in Bittersweet. (See photo for placement.)
- Using the tracing and transfer papers, transfer the leaves pattern onto the pumpkin as desired.
- Mix Brown Sugar with small amounts of Yellow Gold and Bittersweet. Using a #3 round brush, paint in the leaves with the mix. Let dry. Once dry, mix Brown Sugar and Bittersweet and add as light shadows to the leaves, as desired.
- Drill two small holes in the top of the pumpkin.
- Create a bow from the burlap ribbon; attach to the top of the wreath. Run floral wire through the two holes in the pumpkin top; twist ends around wreath until secured.
