- stylus or pencil
- scissors
- decorative paper
- palette knife
- decorative rubber stamp
- black pen
- paintbrushes
- mixed media paper
INSTRUCTIONS
- Paint the entire page of mixed media paper in Vermillion on the edges and Hansa Yellow Medium throughout the middle, blending them into each other quickly and in a painterly manner.
- Cut out several balloon or teardrop shapes from decorative paper.
- Mix Primary Cyan with Titanium White to make a light blue color. Paint the decorative stamp in this mix and stamp over the entire background. Add a significant amount of water to Primary Cyan and saturate the brush. Hold the brush at the top of the paper and allow the paint to drip down.
- Using a palette knife, apply Black Modeling Paste to the same stamp and allow to dry, creating a flat sheet to cut from. Once the Black Modeling Paste is dry, peel it off and cut out a simple figure of a girl with her arm outstretched.
- Apply the balloon shapes to the top center of the mixed media paper, layering them over each other with Paper Decou-Page. Glue the figure of the girl to the paper also using Decou-Page. Add small lines extending from the girl's hand with a small detail brush and Carbon Black or with a pen.
