SUPPLIES

    • scissors
    • ruler
    • small liner brush
    • wooden skewer
    • tin cans
    • 3/4" flat paintbrush
    • 1 sheet white cardstock
    • small round paintbrush
    • 3/4" oval paintbrush

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Gather the three tin cans.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. With an oval brush, paint can #1 with Bright Yellow; can #2 with Tangerine; and can #3 with Carousel Pink. Allow to dry and apply a second coat for even coverage.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Print out the provided pattern of herb shapes (Basil, Cilantro, Thyme) onto the cardstock.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. With a small round brush, paint the basil leaves on the pattern with Orchid; the cilantro leaves with Matcha Green; and the thyme leaves with Sea Breeze. Allow to dry and paint with a second coat for even coverage.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Once dry, cut out all the leaf shapes.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Plan out the placements of leaves: the Sea Breeze thyme leaves go onto the Tangerine can; the Orchid basil leaves go on the Bright Yellow can; and the Matcha Green cilantro leaves go on the Carousel Pink can. Using a flat brush, paint Matte Decou-Page onto the backs of leaves and the surface of the can where each leaf will go.
    12. Instruction #6
    13. Press the leaf onto the can surface and paint Matte Decou-Page over the leaves until adhered. After all the leaves are attached, paint over the entire can surface with Matte Decou-Page so the surface is uniform.
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Measure and break or cut three wooden skewers to a desired height.
    16. Instruction #8
    17. Paint the tips of skewers: one with Tangerine; one with Carousel Pink; and one with Bright Yellow.
    18. Instruction #9
    19. Allow to dry. With a liner brush, paint a "C" for cilantro onto the Carousel Pink skewer. Paint a "B" onto the Bright Yellow skewer. And paint a "T" for thyme onto the Tangerine skewer.
    20. Instruction #10
    21. Allow to dry. Fill the cans with soil and herbs or herb seeds.
    22. Instruction #11
