INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Keep paper towels handy to wipe up any drips.
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Sand the wooden shadow box and pennants to remove any rough edges. Wipe away any sanding dust with a damp paper towel.
- Paint the frame and outer sides of the box with two coats of Pistachio Mint using a 1/2" flat brush. (Be sure to paint inside of the decorative cut-outs of the frame with a small flat brush.)
- Mix (1) part Snow White with (1) part Pistachio Mint to create a lighter shade of green. Paint the inner edges of the box with two coats of the mix. Save the mix for the next step.
- Paint four pennants in Pistachio Mint; three pennants in the 1:1 mix of Snow White and Pistachio Mint from Step Three; three pennants in Baby Pink; and two pennants in a 1:1 mix of Snow White and Baby Pink. Allow the paint to dry and apply an additional coat, as needed.
- Dip the handle end of any brush in Snow White. Create a polka dot border along each pennant by carefully pressing dots of paint. Load with more paint for each dot. Let dry.
- Using alphabet stickers of choice, spell out the desired words or phrase, using one letter per pennant. String onto lengths of twine and set aside.
- Measure and cut decorative paper or vintage sheet music to fit inside the shadow box.
- Using a foam brush, apply a light and even layer of Matte Decou-Page to the back side of the paper. Carefully apply to the inside of the shadow box, smoothing out any wrinkles with fingers or a brayer. Apply an additional coat of Decou-Page on top of the paper.
- Using a hot glue gun, glue the nest to the right inside of the box. Glue a spray of eggs to the inside. (See final photo for placement.)
- Glue the rabbit to the left inside of the box. (See final photo for placement.)
- Add the banner to the box by using a bit of hot glue to attach the pennants at each end of banners to the frame of the box. Hot glue the ends of twine, hiding them beneath the banner.
