    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Using the 3/4" flat brush, basecoat the entire box with Spiced Pumpkin.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Measure stripes of 1 centimeter (or any measurement of your choice) across the box front and top edge. (Make sure you end up with an odd number of stripes.) Paint every other stripe in with the 1/4" flat brush and Antique Gold. (The stripes around the top come down 1 centimeter.)
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Using the #3 round brush and Antique Gold, paint freehand polka dots on the two box sides. Let dry and sand to distress, especially along the edges
    6. Transfer the apples, rolling pin, and letters onto the box with the tracing and transfer papers and a pencil. (The rolling pin is not in the picture because I chose to add it later.)
    7. Instruction #4
    8. Using the #3 round brush, fill in the colors of the apple. (Refer to photo.) Do the Sand area first; add a touch of Sand to Deep Burgundy and fill in the red part of the apple. Add a touch of Sand to Avocado and fill in the green part of the apple. Add more Sand to Avocado for the leaves and fill in. Outline with Burnt Umber and make the seeds.
    9. Instruction #5
    10. Fill in the letter with the #3 round brush and Burnt Umber. Fill in the large part of the rolling pin with the 1/4" flat brush and Sand. Paint the handles Deep Burgundy with the #3 round brush. Add a little Sand to the Burnt Umber and, using the #3 round brush, make four dots on each letter and the shadow on the rolling pin. Mix more Sand into the Deep Burgundy mix and make highlights on the handles with the #3 round brush.
    11. Instruction #6
