    • #1 liner brush
    • backdrop
    • needle and thread
    • iron and ironing board
    • iron-on transfer pen

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Use a pencil and ruler to measure out placemats from the backdrop front and back, 11-1/2” x 16-1/2”. Use scissors to cut the backdrop material and a needle and thread to sew the placemats together.
    2. Print out the patterns, reversing them by printing mirror images. Directly on the copies, use the iron-on transfer pen to trace the entire patterns.
    3. Heat up the iron on the highest cotton setting without steam. Place the pattern face down on the placemat and iron for 30 seconds, keeping iron always in motion.
    4. Remove the paper and let fabric cool down.
    5. Mix (1) part Dark Chocolate with (1) part Fabric Painting Medium. Use the #1 liner brush and mix to paint the branch. (Save the mix for later steps.) Rinse brush.
    6. Mix (1) part Mulberry with (1) part Fabric Painting Medium. Use the #6 flat brush and the mix to paint on the berries. Rinse brush.
    7. Mix (1) part Oyster Beige with (1) part Fabric Painting Medium. Add highlights to the berries with the #1 liner brush and mix, using comma strokes. Rinse brush.
    8. Mix (1) part Marigold with (1) part Fabric Painting Medium. Use the mix and the #10 flat brush to paint some leaves. (Save mix for later step.) Rinse brush.
    9. Use Dark Chocolate/Fabric Painting Medium mix from step 5 and the #10 flat brush to add shadows. While still wet, use the same brush and mix to shade the half side of each leaf. Rinse brush.
    10. Mix (1) part Burnt Orange with (1) part Fabric Painting Medium. Use the #10 flat brush and the mix to paint more leaves. Rinse brush.
    11. While still wet, add shadows and shade a half side of each leaf with the same brush and the Dark Chocolate/Fabric Painting Medium mix. Rinse brush.
    12. Mix (1) part Margarita with (1) part Fabric Painting Medium. Use the #10 flat brush and the mix to paint some leaves just halfway. Add the Marigold/Fabric Painting Medium from step 8 to the mix and paint the rest of the leaves. Add some areas of Dark Chocolate/Fabric Painting Medium mix. Rinse brush.
    13. Use the #1 liner brush and the Dark Chocolate/Fabric Painting Medium mix to paint stems on the leaves. Rinse brush.
