    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Wash the hurricane candleholder with soap and water. Dry thoroughly.

    2. Cut a sponge into a 1" square, 2" rectangle, small heart leaf shape, and long, tapered leaf shape.
    3. Using a 1" flat shader brush, cover the entire outside surface of the candleholder, including the bottom, with rubbing alcohol. Allow to dry upside down.
    4. Squirt a quarter-sized dollop of Coffee Bean onto a palette or paper plate. Dip the 2" rectangular sponge into the paint and pat on the bottom and up the sides (base only) of the candleholder.

    5. Using a #4 shader brush and Blue Lagoon, carefully paint on an accent line between the base and sides of the candleholder.
    6. Using the square and rectangle sponge, along with Blue Lagoon, Vanilla Shake, and Coffee Bean, apply sponged shapes liberally around the entire candleholder, alternating colors. (Allow each color to dry before starting a new color, and don't be shy about overlapping some shapes and colors.)
    7. Using the two leaf shapes and Pumpkin Patch, Green Beret, and Muted Gold, sponge colored leaves randomly all around the candleholder. (Make sure to let each color dry thoroughly before overlapping colors.)
    8. Using a #10/0 liner brush, outline each square, rectangle, and leaf shape with Black Tie.
    9. Using a #10/0 liner brush and Black Tie, apply leaf veins and a simple stem to each leaf.
    10. Place a candle inside the hurricane candleholder.
