    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Choose rocks which have the general shape of the pumpkins you'd like to paint (including the stem). Thoroughly wash and dry your rocks before starting.

    1. Gather your supplies to paint one pumpkin rock.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. With Cotton Ball, paint an elongated, vertical oval shape along the midline of the stone.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Next, paint elongated, vertical ovals using Cotton Ball along either side of the first oval.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Repeat this with two more ovals in Cotton Ball, one on either side of the previous ovals. These outer ovals will be slightly shorter than the previous ones. At this point, you may want to expand the ovals to fill more of the rock's surface as desired.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Dip the tip of your brush into the Deep Turquoise paint and blend it with the white. You don't need to fully blend- having some subtle streaks of blue and white is perfect. Paint this light blue along the outside curves of each oval, creating a shadow effect.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Dip your brush into the Deep Turquoise and paint a thin darker blue line along the outer edges of the ovals.
    12. Instruction #6
    13. Clean off your brush and paint over the white (Cotton Ball) areas again, overlapping the blue areas a bit. Let the paint dry a bit.
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Clean off your brush and paint a stem to the top of the pumpkin. Make sure it overlaps on the pumpkin a bit rather than sticking straight out of the top. Let your pumpkins dry completely.
    16. Instruction #8
    17. Repeat this step using Orange Sherbet, Lipstick and Steel Gray in place of the Deep Turquoise for orange-, pink- and gray-tinted pumpkins, respectively. Vary the height and widths of the ovals for pumpkins of different shapes and sizes.
    18. Instruction #9
