SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • rubbing alcohol
    • decorative paper
    • glass dome with wooden bottom
    • X-Acto® knife
    • paintbrushes

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Wipe the entire glass surface with rubbing alcohol before painting.

    1. With Soft Jade, paint a standard leaf/teardrop shape all over the surface of the glass dome, placing the shapes very close together and concentrated toward the bottom and then spreading them out more sporadically as you reach the lip of the dome.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Add a stem to every leaf in Cactus.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Using an X-Acto knife, cut out a desired shape from the decorative paper. (We cut a circle.)
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Highlight and embellish with 24K Gold along the outside of the cut shape and within the design or embellishment of the selected decorative paper. (We highlighted the outline of the circle as well as in the centers of the flowers and also did a light brushing on the petals of the flowers.)
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Spray the back of the paper in water, holding it far away from the surface. (Or sprinkle water with your fingers.) Apply Gloss Decou-Page to the back of the paper and adhere to the surface of the vase, pressing it down with your fingers and smoothing it out.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Paint the wooden foot in Golden Straw. Let dry.
    12. Instruction #6
    13. Cover the entire foot in 24K Gold.
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Cut a strip (or two) of paper that will fit along the outside of the foot, leaving room at the top and bottom for the 24K Gold to be exposed as a stripe. Using the same method as in STEP 5, adhere the stripe to the outside of the foot.
