Fluid Art l Paint Pour Holiday Jars
Posted by DecoArt on Dec 17th 2019
Get creative this holiday season with a paint pour of Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics on tree-shaped jars.
SUPPLIES
- paper towels
- rubbing alcohol
- paintbrush
- plastic cups
- glass Christmas tree
INSTRUCTIONS
- To remove dirt and grease from the trees, wipe them down with rubbing alcohol.
- Paint the trees with Apple Green and allow to dry thoroughly.
- In four separate plastic cups, mix equal parts DecoArt Pouring Medium and paint being sure to keep one color per cup (Apple Green, Green Beret, and Woodland Green). For this project, I chose to do a "dirty pour," meaning I mixed the paint into one bowl and poured it over the trees. Rotate them carefully to ensure coverage and let dry thoroughly (at least 1-2 days). For added durability follow up with DuraClear Light Satin Varnish (optional).
- Using an old brush or a popsicle stick, drop clumps of Snowtex onto the surface and shape with tools. Imagine how the snow would be settled on a tree and mimic that. Before the Snow-Tex dries, you can sprinkle Crystal Glamour Dust for added sparkle (optional).
