Late Night Trick-or-Treaters Frame

Feature a photo of your Halloween trick-or-treaters in a painted wooden frame.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • pencil
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • #4 round brush
    • 12" square wooden frame

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the grass, hill, outline of house, and moon onto the wooden frame.
    2. Double-load a 3/4" flat brush with Desert Turquoise and Lavender. Fill in the sky, but do not fill in the moon.
    3. Use the same brush to fill in the moon with Marigold.
    4. Use the same brush to paint the hill Lavender and grass, Mulberry.
    5. With a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers, trace and transfer the house details, tree, and children onto the frame.
    6. Use the #4 round brush to fill in the windows with Marigold.
    7. Use the same brush to paint the house, lines of windows, and the gates on the roofs Lamp Black. While still wet, add small, loose strokes of Lavender and Mulberry to the house.
    8. Mix a small amount of Lavender with a very small amount of Lamp Black. Paint loose horizontal strokes directly under the house for a shadow.
    9. Use the same brush to fill in the children and trees with Lamp Black.
    10. Mix a small amount of Snow White with a very small amount of Lamp Black. Fill in the ghost's eyes and the pumpkin faces.
