Lavender Sprigs Painting on Stained Wood

Turn a driftwood round into a charming home décor accent with Americana Decor Color Stain®.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • transfer paper
    • sandpaper
    • driftwood
    • paintbrushes
    • clean rag

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Sand the entire flat surface of the driftwood before painting.

    1. Apply Chambray to the entire flat surface of the driftwood with a rag, wiping it away and removing it in spots to expose the wood grain and push the stain into the desired areas.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Transfer the provided pattern onto the surface of the driftwood using transfer paper. Mix (3) parts Phthalo Green-Blue with (1) part Medium Green. Use the mix to paint the leaves and stems. Paint the lavender flowers in Red Violet.

    5. Mix (2) parts Light Violet with (1) part Red Violet and use mix to add highlights to the flowers. Mix (2) parts Sapphire Blue, (1) part Medium Green, and a touch of Phthalo Green-Blue and use mix to add highlights to the stem and leaves.

    7. Add additional highlights in Sapphire Blue to the flowers, stems, and leaves. Add fine lines to the flowers (following the provided pattern) in Light Violet, and spots of color to the stems and leaves in this same color for more visual interest.
