Metallic Geometric Leaf Garland

Experiment with stripes and shapes of color to string together a leaf garland full of Dazzling Metallics®.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • painter's tape
    • 2" flat brush
    • 1/2" flat brush
    • leaves
    • twine

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. To make a striped leaf, start by placing strips of painter's tape across the leaf, spacing them out evenly. (If using a real leaf, this will only last one season.)

    3. Paint between the tape in Teal.

    5. While the paint is still wet, remove the painter's tape.

    7. Between the stripes, paint Emerald or Black Ice.

    9. Experiment with different patterns and shapes on the leaves and also leave some solid-colored. (We used Copper, Dark Patina, Festive Green, and Emperor's Gold.)

    11. Coat both the front and back of the leaves with Americana Gloss Decou-Page.

    13. Cut a 4" piece of baker's twine and tie it around the stem of the leaf.

    15. Cut a piece of paper twine in the desired length of the garland. Tie leaves on the paper twine.
