    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Use a sharp craft knife to slice the Scrabble board in half through the crease.
    2. Tear up a tissue clothing pattern randomly into 1-1/2" strips.
    3. Instruction #2
    4. Cover the game board with Americana Matte Decou-Page, using a 3/4" flat brush. Layer the board with tissue paper working in small sections. Allow colored squares to show through if desired.
    5. Instruction #3
    6. With a 3/4" flat brush, dry-brush Primary Yellow over the tissue paper areas. Dry-brush Bahama Blue over Primary Yellow.
    7. Instruction #4
    8. With a metal mesh screen and cosmetic sponge, pounce Golden Straw in a random pattern over the painted areas. With Peacock Teal, brush over a piece of corrugated cardboard and press onto the board in five random areas.
    9. Instruction #5
    10. Cut out the provided stem patterns, then trace around the stems with a black permanent marker on the back of a scrap food bag (or other recyclable). Cut out with scissors.
    11. Instruction #6
    12. Cut out the leaf pattern. Trace the leaf pattern on the back of candy wrappers (or other recyclable) with a black permanent marker, cutting out five leaves. Trace the leaf pattern onto the back of the food bag in a green section, cutting three leaves. Cut the leaves in half lengthwise.
    13. Instruction #7
    14. Cut out the vase pattern. Trace around the vase pattern with a pencil on the painted game board. Place the stem patterns on the design and draw in with a pencil. Outline the rose pattern on the ends of the stems.
    15. Instruction #8
    16. With a black permanent marker, trace the outline of the vase on the back side of an aqua plastic chip bag. Cut out the vase with scissors. Set aside.
    17. Instruction #9
    18. Paint the vase Snow White with a 3/4" flat brush in the penciled area on the game board. Apply a second coat.
    19. Instruction #10
    20. Put tracing paper over the rose pattern and trace with a black permanent marker. Using the tracing paper pattern and a ballpoint pen, press hard on the top rose patterns onto red candy wrappers. Trace one section at a time and cut out. (Arrange it on paper to maintain design while working.)
    21. Instruction #11
    22. Arrange the cut-out rose petals on the penciled areas. Use Decou-Page and a #8 flat brush to glue the petals down.
    23. Instruction #12
    24. Glue the half leaves to each of the foil leaves with Decou-Page. Glue down the stems over the pencil lines. Glue down the aqua plastic vase on the Snow White-painted vase.
    25. Instruction #13
    26. Squeeze a little Snow White on a plate; tap a toothpaste cap around in the paint; and stamp markings on the area. (Refer to photo.) Quickly, use a brush to streak the wet paint.
    27. Instruction #14
    28. With Soft Jade, highlight the tops of the leaves and the left sides of the stems. Using watered-down Charcoal Grey, brush around the vase, roses, and stems with a #8 flat brush. Add Chick to the top edge of the rose petals. Using Snow White and a 3/4" flat brush, coat a section of bubble wrap. Press it onto the left side of the vase and some on the lower right side. Highlight the edges and rim with Snow White.
    29. With a #0 liner brush and Green Beret, add shadows on the lower section of the leaves and the right sides of the stems. Add Snow White highlights to the tops and left sides of the stems. Outline the roses in True Red, making squiggly lines.
    30. Instruction #16
    31. With Peacock Teal and a piece of corrugated cardboard, add horizontal lines under the vase. Add more watered-down Charcoal Grey shadows around the vase bottom. Glue on the rose petals; add Chick and True Red as on other roses.
    32. Use Snow White, a cosmetic sponge, and a stencil of choice to pounce shapes around the vase. Cut out words from a magazine and glue with Decou-Page. Let dry and brush over words. Add dots with True Red, using the brush handle. Outline the words with Lamp Black and a #0 liner brush.
