Transferring images onto furniture has never been so easy with Americana Decor® Image Transfer Medium.

SUPPLIES

• paper towels
• sandpaper
• scissors
• wooden stool
• small spray bottle of water
• 2" foam brush
• public domain image
• laser jet printer

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Lightly sand the stools. Wipe away sanding dust and dirt with a damp paper towel.

2. Paint the stools with three coats of Lace.

3. Lightly distress around the edges and other areas of the stool that would naturally show wear.

4. Print out images of choice from a laser jet printer. (If there is wording, be sure to reverse the images so that the words come out correctly.) Cut out the images with scissors or a craft knife.

5. Using a foam brush, apply a light and even coat of Americana Decor Image Transfer Medium to the print side of the copy as well as to the top of the stool where the image will be placed. Allow both to dry.

6. Apply another coat of Image Transfer Medium to the printed side of the image and the top of the stool. While the medium is still wet, press the image print side down onto the center of the stool. Gently smooth out any wrinkles with fingertips. Wipe away excess medium with a damp paper towel. Let sit overnight.

7. Once dry, spray the image with a spray bottle of water. Using a light touch, gently remove the paper by moving fingertips in a circular motion. Wipe away any small bits of paper as they accumulate. (Take your time and don't rush; rushing may lead to tearing of the transferred image.) Keep removing paper until the image is completely revealed.

8. Using a foam brush, apply a thin, even coat of Soft-Touch Varnish to the entire stool. Apply additional coats, if desired.

9. Repeat all steps for the remaining stools.
