Spookify and glamourize a birdhouse for a haunting Halloween accent.

SUPPLIES

    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • pencil
    • #2 round brush
    • hot glue gun
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • #6 flat brush
    • #12 flat brush
    • #1 liner brush
    • 1" pouncer
    • slanted roof wooden birdhouse
    • wooden bird

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Use a 3/4" flat brush to basecoat the walls of the birdhouse using Citron Green. Rinse brush.

    3. Use a #12 flat brush to paint the roof, perch, opening, and base using Lamp Black. Rinse brush.
    4. Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the patterns onto all walls.

    6. Use a #6 flat brush and Lilac to paint on diamond walls. Rinse brush. Use the same brush and Orchid to paint the door, shutters, roof, and second story roof section. Rinse brush.

    8. Use a #1 liner brush and Orchid to outline the diamond wall pattern. Rinse brush.
    9. Use a #2 round brush and Lamp Black to paint the window sills, rooftop above window, hole in shutter, and door knob. Use the same brush and add a small amount of Snow White to make a grey mix. Use the mix to paint the ledge under the roof top and the pattern on the roof shape and to highlight the door knob. Rinse brush. Save grey mix for future step.

    11. With a #2 round brush and Cadmium Yellow, paint only the tops of the inside windows. Add a small amount of Snow White as you paint down to give a fading or ombre look. Rinse brush.

    13. Use a #6 flat brush and Cocoa to basecoat the boards over the windows. Rinse brush.

    15. Use a #1 liner brush and Milk Chocolate to add details to the wooden boards. Rinse brush.

    17. Use a #1 liner brush and the grey mix from step 6 to paint the iron fence shadow on the roof ledge. Rinse brush. Use the same brush and Lamp Black to add iron fence bars. Rinse brush.

    19. Use a 1" pouncer dipped into Lilac to paint random dots on the side wall. Wash pouncer.

    21. Use a #1 liner brush and Lilac to paint thin stripes on the other wall. Rinse brush.
    22. Instruction #12
    23. Use a #6 flat brush and Purple Princess to add glitter over all the Lilac painted sections. Rinse brush.

    25. Use a #6 flat brush and Lavender to add glitter over everything painted in Orchid. Rinse brush.

    27. Use a #6 flat brush and Lamp Black to basecoat the entire bird. Rinse brush.

    29. Use a #6 flat brush and Black Ice to add glitter over all Lamp Black painted areas on the birdhouse and bird. Rinse brush.

    31. Use a glue gun to attach the bird to the top of the house.
