Add a French accent to a kitchen or breakfast nook with Americana Decor®.

SUPPLIES

• water container
• palette or plastic plate
• paper towels
• tracing paper
• transfer paper
• pencil
• 2" flat brush
• #2 round brush
• 3/4" flat brush
• #10 flat brush
• cosmetic sponge
• 12" x 12" basswood canvas

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Innocence to paint a border about 2"-3" in width and the edges of the canvas.

2. While still wet, use the same brush without rinsing to add Everlasting to loosely fill in the center of the canvas. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.

3. Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer on the cake.
4. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Everlasting to fill in the 3-layer cake.

5. While the cake is still wet, use the same brush and Primitive to shade the cake. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.

6. Trace and transfer the stand using a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers.
7. Use a #10 flat brush to loosely mix (2) parts Rouge with (1) part Innocence. Use the mix to loosely fill in the stand, icing, and strawberries, making areas lighter and darker to give depth. Rinse brush.

8. Use a #2 round brush and load with Relic, dabbing the brush on paper towel to get a dry-brushed look when outlining the whole cake. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.

9. Use a 3/4" flat brush and load with Everlasting, dabbing the brush on a paper towel to get a dry-brushed, streaky look (like a window reflection). Repeat as desired, going in a diagonal motion. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.

10. Add the French Bakery Stencil, either holding down or taping it in place. Load a cosmetic sponge with Relic and lightly dab over the entire stencil. Remove and wash the stencil immediately.

11. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Ultra-Matte Varnish to seal the entire canvas. Rinse brush. Let completely dry.
