SUPPLIES

• palette or plastic plate
• paper towels
• 1" chip brush
• 3/4" flat brush
• #6 flat brush
• craft glue
• fine point permanent marker
• "My Mind's Eye" Stella and Rose Designer Paper
• matching ribbon
• wooden paddle
• wooden box with drawers

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the box with Bittersweet.

2. Using a #6 flat brush, paint the stripes (squares) on the box in Sky Blue. (See photo for placement.)

3. Using a 1" chip brush, dry-brush over the stripes with Bittersweet.

4. Cut random-sized squares out of scrapbook paper. (Refer to photo.) Using a fine point black permanent marker, write out the words "pencils, pens and things" with one letter per square. Glue on the lettered squares with craft glue. (Refer to photo for placement.)
5. Using a 3/4" flat brush, seal the entire surface of the box with DuraClear Satin Varnish.
6. Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the paddle with Bittersweet. Trace the paddle onto the dark brown scrapbook paper and cut out approximately 1/4" smaller than the size of the paddle. Set paper aside for later step.

7. Using a #6 flat brush, paint stripes (squares) around the perimeter of the paddle in Sky Blue. (Refer to photo for placement.)

8. Using a 1" chip brush, dry-brush over the stripes with Bittersweet.

9. Use craft glue to adhere the scrapbook paper (cut in step 6) to the paddle.
10. Cut random-sized squares out of scrapbook paper, (See photo.) Using a fine point black permanent marker, write out "study now play later" (one letter per square). Glue on with craft glue. (Refer to photo for placement.)
11. Using a 3/4" flat brush, seal the entire surface of the paddle with DuraClear Satin Varnish.
