They are a resin-based acrylic that can perform as an acrylic, watercolor or oil paint! Traditions have light-fast pigmentation and dry to a matte acrylic finish. 
 
Excellent adhesion on a variety of surfaces. Medium-body. Permanent. Water-based. Soap and water clean-up.Tested for excellence on canvas, wood, MDF wood, terra cotta, furniture, paper, styrofoam, walls, unglazed ceramics, cabinets.

    I often convert my designs to acrylics. In my opinion using Traditions acrylics is a 'slam dunk'. The pigments match up and mix well to duplicate my oils. Thank you DecoArt!

    I love the intensity of the colors along with the versatility. The coverage and flexibility is exceptional. It spreads easily and is very smooth.

    I love the viscosity of the paint and that the consistency is the same from one color to the next, and from one tube to the next.

    Traditions pigments are very pure

    Traditions viscosity works well—not too thick and not too thin. I also do not have to use a lot of paint to get good coverage. Traditions has many transparent and semi-transparent pigments in the line. I love working layers of glaze for a great depth to my paintings.

    As a Helping Artist Member I was privileged to have had access to Traditions Acrylics since their inception. There is no comparison to other brands I have tried as an artist and teacher over the years. Their coverage, brilliance and steadfastness is unparalleled for painting both my Decorative and Fine Art projects. In the past, I only ever used oils for portraits, but Traditions used with DecoArt Extender are allowing me to achieve the same blending results.
