    Traditions

Traditions Artist Acrylics have been my paint of choice for the past 16 years. The creamy consistency, bright clean pigments, and range of color choices are just a few of the characteristics I love about Traditions. The creamy consistency allows paint to blend easily, and with the use of Extender and Blending Medium oil techniques can be emulated.

    Intense Color

I love the Traditions for the intensity of color and the volume. I use a large round brush and you can load a few of the colours together and it blends so well and such a strong color!! Example.. Brown Madder, Quinacridone gold, Alizarin Crimson! Quinacridone burnt orange.. love ️ the intensity!

    My paint of choice!

Posted by Judy WJ on Aug 19th 2022

Traditions are my paint of choice! Traditions Artists Acrylics consistency of color is perfect for decorative art or fine art. Two of the key features of Traditions are lightfastness and safety for the environment and the user. Its coverage is equal to any professional grade paint in the fine art market. The purity of the pigment is outstanding. Its vibrant, velvety consistency suits every level of painting expertise. As an instructor, I find beginner students and seasoned painters respond with equal enthusiasm when using Traditions. The use of painting mediums is vital to my painting experience. Extender & Blending Medium allows me to replicate the look of oil paints while using acrylic. Glazing Medium allows me to protect an area with a “barrier” coat so that I can continue painting without fear of break through. These two products create a complete painting system when used with Traditions. I love that Traditions are so versatile. I use them on canvas, wood, leather and on so many other substrates. It can even be thinned with water to create watercolor techniques. The depth of color remains strong even when the addition of water makes it transparent. Traditions allows me to make better paintings with smart choices when it comes to color mixing.

    Traditions Acrylics

I love Traditions for so many reasons. The pure pigments and hues make it easy to mix colors that are clear and vibrant, and have great coverage. My favorites are the transparent colors for building values and creating watercolor wash effects. Every bottle of paint has the same loft or consistency...there are no thin, runny pigments in the Traditions line...and they don't separate, so you never have to shake them! They keep in a airtight palette for months with no odor. My students love the creamy consistency and exceptional coverage.

    Love Traditions Acrylics

Posted by Jill F on Aug 19th 2022

The high concentration of vibrant colors in the Traditions line of paint is what hooked me. A little goes a long way. The versatility of the paint is also key. I love that the paint can be used full strength and has a fantastic coverage or it can be thinned down with water or a medium into a clean clear watercolor like tint. Some colors are transparent by nature, like Hansa Yellow Light, and those are perfect for clean clear tints also. A clear tint enhances the colors you put it on top of instead of masking them with a cloudy paint. You can't get a clean tint by using other paints that have a chalky or cloudy base. The Traditions paints can be mixed to create a wide variety of additional clean vibrant colors without a cloudy look. Just like oils or watercolors. You can always tone down a color to make it more dusty looking but you can't take a dusty color and make it clean and vibrant.

Love the blend ability and how perfectly the paint works with a touch of extender medium. I love the clean pigment rich colors that don’t get at all muddy when you mix them.

    Traditions

I love the Traditions Acrylic paint because it is pigment rich. A little paint goes a long way. The consistency is smooth and the colors are rich and vibrant. I used this paint and taught with it for years and would not dream of using anything else. My finished paintings look like they were painted with oils. People are always surprised when I tell them they are done with Acrylic paint.

I often convert my designs to acrylics. In my opinion using Traditions acrylics is a 'slam dunk'. The pigments match up and mix well to duplicate my oils. Thank you DecoArt!
