Around the Christmas Tree Painted Rocks

Bring the painted rock craze into your holidays with Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics.
SUPPLIES
- rocks
- small acrylic paint brushes, assorted sizes and shapes
- newspaper or dropcloth
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Wash the rock and let it dry completely before painting. Protect the work surface with a sheet of newspaper. Allow paint to fully dry between steps and when changing to a new color. Repeat each step as needed for additional coverage.
- For the gift box: Paint a 3D-shaped box onto the center of the rock in Cotton Ball. Mix Cotton Ball with a small amount of Black Tie; use the mix to shade the top and sides of the gift box. (See photo.)
- For the gift box: Paint loops for the bow on the top of the gift box in Lipstick. Paint stripes for the ribbon in Lipstick.
- For the gift box: Using a fine tip paintbrush, add an outline to the 3D box in Black Tie.
- For the gift box: Paint a narrow stripe along the center of the red stripes in Turf Green.
- For the stocking: Paint a sock shape onto the center of the rock in Lipstick.
- For the stocking: Paint semi-circles onto the heel and foot areas in Cotton Ball and paint narrow stripes and a top cuff in Turf Green.
- For the stocking: Paint a small loop at the upper right corner in Lipstick and using a fine tip paintbrush, add small stitch lines on heel and toe in Black Tie.
- For the tree: Paint an evergreen tree shape onto the center of the rock in Turf Green.
- For the tree: Paint a rectangular tree stump in Cocoa Bean. Paint a small star on top of the tree in Canary.
- For the tree: Using a very fine tip brush, dip the paintbrush in Lipstick and randomly add small dots throughout. Repeat in Cotton Ball.
- For the tree: Mix Turf Green with Black Tie 2:1 and use the mix to add shading to the tree. (See photo.)
