  1. Create a wide variety of patriotic crafts using the 4th of July Multi-Surface Satin Acrylic Paint Set!
  2. Instruction #1
  3. Choose a surface to paint on. A wooden round works perfectly for this project.
  4. Instruction #2
  5. Print out the provided floral designs. Cut out the designs.
  6. Instruction #3
  7. Arrange on your board until you achieve the design you like.
  8. Instruction #4
  9. Think about how the different types of flowers and leaves create a balanced design. (TIP: Print out different sizes of florals for even more variety.)
  10. Instruction #5
  11. Using clear tape, lightly tape the design together.
  12. Instruction #6
  13. Gently lift and set aside.
  14. Instruction #7
  15. Place transfer paper on the wooden board.
  16. Instruction #8
  17. Lay taped floral template on top. (TIP: if needed, affix with tape to keep it all from moving while tracing.)
  18. Instruction #9
  19. Using a pencil or pen, trace design.
  20. Instruction #10
  21. Before removing tape, check to make sure all of the design was traced.
  22. Instruction #11
  23. If you want to add more to your design, trace some more leaves or flowers.
  24. Instruction #12
  25. Don't be afraid to draw some extra free-hand designs using a pencil.
  26. Instruction #13
  27. Gather your paints, a palette and some brushes.
  28. Instruction #14
  29. I poured some of each color Red Hot, Blue Lagoon, True Blue, Cotton Ball, Black Tie into the palette. I also mixed some Cotton Ball into each of the following colors: Blue Lagoon, True Blue, Black Tie and Red Hot. This creates a tint (highlight) of each color.
  30. Instruction #15
  31. I also mixed some black with each of the blues (Blue Lagoon and True Blue) and the red (Red Hot). This creates a shade (shadow) for each color. I also mixed a grey. (Approximately a 1:1 ration of Black Tie and Cotton Ball) This gives you even more choices when painting your design.
  32. Instruction #16
  33. Basecoat the wood with Yellow Gold using a large flat brush.
  34. Instruction #17
  35. Paint the entire surface and allow to dry.
  36. Instruction #18
  37. Using a small filbert brush, paint the "rose" shaped flowers with the red shade (the Red Hot and Black Tie).
  38. Instruction #19
  39. Continue to paint other flower shapes with the lighter blue (Blue Lagoon and Cotton Ball).
  40. Instruction #20
  41. Paint the "daisy" flower shapes with the grey mixture.
  42. Instruction #21
  43. Paint remaining flowers with white and the darker blue colors. Keep adding colors using different mixtures for different shapes. Add lighter colors on top of darker mixtures. Mix red and blue to create a dark purple. Dot that color into the center of some flowers using the end of the paintbrush. This will help add dimension and variation.
  44. Instruction #22
  45. Add highlight colors to flowers and leaves.
  46. Instruction #23
  47. Add lighter blues over darker blue colors.
  48. Instruction #24
  49. Add another layer of red to the "rose" shapes to brighten even more.
  50. Instruction #25
  51. Add accent dots of red using the end of the paintbrush.
  52. Instruction #26
  53. Using a liner brush, paint the stems and outlines of the traced design.
  54. Instruction #27
  55. Keep adding detail to really make the design pop.
  56. Instruction #28
  57. Add accents of shimmer by adding the Silver Moon Galaxy Glitter to some of the flower petals.
  58. Instruction #29
  59. Add some Silver to some of the grey areas for added metallic sheen.
  60. Instruction #30
  61. Paint other decorative pieces to go along with your floral design.
  62. Instruction #31
  63. This non-traditional 4th of July project is great for decorating a front door or any place you want to add a floral patriotic design.
