Stack giant wooden blocks painted in Patio Paint Outdoor™ for some outdoor summer fun.

    • paper towels
    • ruler
    • pencil
    • painter's tape
    • 1" flat brush
    • power saw
    • 1" foam brush
    • wooden board
    • hand-sander

Let dry completely between painting steps.

If you are using a board other than 2" x 4", multiply the true width of the board by three and that will become the length of the pieces.

    1. Using a ruler and pencil, measure out and mark each of the 8' wood pieces in 10-1/2" increments. (There should be nine pieces per board, with a tiny bit left over. You will need 54 total pieces.)
    2. Cut the wood where marked. (Most home improvement stores will cut these for you for a small fee, if asked.)
    3. Sand each piece of wood using a hand-sander. Pay special attention to the rough ends and any rough edges. (Each piece will need to slide in and out easily once stacked together.) Wipe off any dust with a paper towel or cloth.
    4. Instruction #3
    5. Attach painter's tape to the edges of each piece of wood, with the bottom edge of the tape flush against the edge of the wood at each end. (This prevents the paint from going beyond the bottom and top ends that will be painted.)
    6. Instruction #4
    7. Decide how many of the 54 pieces that will be painted in each of the five neon colors. (Shown: 13 Neon Pink, 11 Neon Blue, 10 Neon Orange, 10 Neon Green, and 10 Neon Yellow.)
    8. Instruction #5
    9. Paint one end at a time in the desired color, working the paint into the surface for complete coverage. Stand the pieces on ends to dry. When one end is dry, remove the painter's tape and flip the piece to repeat on the other side.
    10. Instruction #6
    11. Once paint on the ends is dry, paint the wood grain in Clear Coat for added durability.
