SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- sandpaper
- ruler
- painter's tape
- screwdriver
- 3/4" flat brush
- 1" sponge brush
- scrapbook paper
- paper trimmer
- wooden jewelry box
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Sand the entire wooden jewelry box. Remove the drawers and the hardware to prevent painting getting on them.
- Use painter's tape to tape off the mirror if the box has one.
- Paint the inside of the box with Bahama Blue on a 3/4" flat brush. Allow to dry completely between coats. Paint the outside of the box using White Wash.
- Measure and cut a piece of scrapbook paper with a paper trimmer to fit the top of the box. Apply a layer of Americana Matte Decou-Page to the top of the box.
- Place the paper over the surface and press from the center out, removing any air bubbles. Apply an additional coat of Decou-Page on top of the paper.
- Measure and cut additional paper to fit the other bottom sections of the box. Apply Decou-Page; position the paper; remove any air bubbles; and apply another layer of Decou-Page on top.
- When everything has completely dried, apply a coat of DuraClear Matte Varnish to the entire piece. Re-attach the hardware and remove any painter's tape.
