INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Adjust the pattern to fit the canvas. Trace and transfer the image onto the canvas with the tracing and transfer papers and a pencil.
- Use the 3/4" flat brush to paint the first guitar Berry Red; the second, Sour Apple; and the third, True Blue. Rinse brush.
- Use the same brush to paint the knobs, pick-ups, and pick-up selector Snow White. Rinse brush.
- Use the same brush to paint the bridge and jacks Shimmering Silver.
- Use the #3 round brush to highlight the knobs and lines in the bridge with Shimmering Silver.
- Use a #12 flat brush to outline everything with Lamp Black.
- Tear tissue paper into pieces and crumple to form wrinkles.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush to apply Americana Matte Decou-Page on the guitars for a pick guard. (Refer to photo for placement.) Press the crinkled tissue into wet Decou-Page. Immediately apply more Decou-Page over the tissue: Use pink tissue paper for Berry Red guitar; yellow for Sour Apple; and light blue for True Blue.
- When dry, dry-brush Snow White over the tissue-papered areas.
- Measure the scrapbook paper with a ruler to fit each guitar for the fingerboard. Cut with scissors and adhere into place with Decou-Page using the 3/4" flat brush.
- Use the #3 round brush and Lamp Black to paint the fret lines.
- Use scissors to cut the decorative paper trim; use Decou-Page to adhere beneath each bridge.
- Use the #12 flat brush to add highlights on guitars using Festive Red, Festive Green, and Ice Blue.
- Use a White 3D Gloss Writer to embellish with a swirl at the bottom left side of each guitar and then outline in Black 3D Gloss Writer. Outline all Lamp Black lines with the Black Writer.
- Use a stylus to poke holes at the tops and bottoms of guitar necks for strings. Pull hemp cording "strings" through and knot the ends on the back of the canvas.
