Transform an Ikea frame into a textured ancestor frame with DecoArt Media products.

Items Needed:

Instructions:

Paint the Ikea frame with a layer of Media black Gesso. Let dry.

Apply a layer of Media Fluid Acrylics Silver. Let dry.

Seal the frame with a layer of Media Matte Medium.

Embellish front and back with Industrious stickers.

You can use it as a flip frame now. Hang on calendar tags for example

To create an Ancestor Frame, we need to prepare an old packaging, which fits between the Ikea frame.

Glue down the edges, prepare a sturdy box but leave one side open. Apply cold embossed aluminium foil tape for texture

Glue down some media mixage paper inside the box

Glue down wooden lasercut embellishments to the top of the box with E-6000.

Apply Media Texture Sand Paste on random spots and let dry.

Paint the box with Media Fluid Acrylic Medium Grey Value 6.

Apply a layer of Media Antiquing Cream Carbon Black and let dry. Remove some of the black antiquing cream with a damp cloth. Seal with Media Matte Medium

Paint a layer of Media Fluid Acrylic Quinacridone Gold.

Apply a layer of Media Antiquing Cream Titanium White and let dry. Remove some of the white antiquing cream with a damp cloth. Seal with Media Matte Medium.

Paint thin layers of Media Fluid Acrylics Quinacridone Gold in random spots as often to get your desired look. Let the paint dry between the layers.

Paint thin layers of Media Fluid Acrylics Cobalt Teal Hue and Transparent Red Iron Oxide on random spots.

Apply a layer of Media Antiquing Cream Carbon Black and let dry.

Remove some of the Antiquing Cream with a damp cloth and seal with Media Matte Medium.

Apply a layer of Media Antiquing Cream Patina Green and let dry.

Glue down your vintage picture like a small collage to a piece of wooden lasercut frame with Media Matte Medium and apply Triple Thick Gloss Glaze on top. Give the outside of the frame the same paint treatment as for the box.

Paint the bottlecap with Media Fluid Acrylics Quinacridone Gold and heat the paint up with a Heat Tool to burn the paint into the metal. Cut paper and Label Letters for the inside of the bottlecap. Glue down with Media Matte Medium and apply Triple Thick Gloss Glaze on top.

Glue picture frame with E-6000 inside the box and use E-6000 to glue the box inside the Ikea frame.
