Organize a Little Leaguer (or grown-up baseball fan) with a dresser and Americana Decor® Chalky Finish.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- paper towels
- sandpaper
- 2" flat brush
- dresser
- screwdriver
- images of choice, cut to fit
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Remove the drawers from the dresser. (Label as you do so.)
- Remove the hardware from the drawer fronts.
- Sand the wooden surface to remove any blemishes.
- Paint the wooden surfaces of the dresser using Everlasting. Let dry.
- Print out images of your choice. (If you are using regular letter-sized paper, you will need the images spread over three pages.)
- Apply a layer of Americana Matte Decou-Page to the drawer front. Lay the first portion of the image down (lined up with the edges of the drawer front) and rub out any bubbles or wrinkles.
- Line up the next part of the image, cutting off most of the extra so they only overlap a little bit.
- Using a high-grit sandpaper (120 or higher,) sand at the edge of the drawer front.
- Gently peel back the sanded edge and you should get a clean, crisp edge.
- Repeat until all five images are on the drawer fronts.
- Apply another layer of Decou-Page onto each drawer front to seal the paper.
- Set in the dresser to let them dry.
- Once dry, apply Clear Crème Wax to all Everlasting areas of dresser.
- Paint the hardware using Relic. Let dry.
- Once dry, re-attach the hardware.
