Items Needed:
- DecoArt Patent Leather 2 oz - Gold (DPL11-30)
- Soft Bristle Brush
- White Craft Leather
- Sizzix Big Shot
- Feather Bracelet Cuff Movers And Shapers/Thinlits
- Movers & Shapers Shuttle
- Precision Base Plate
- Magnetic Platform
- Cutting Pads
- Jewelry Findings
Instructions:
Collect your supplies.
Starting with a soft bristle brush, add a coat of Gold Patent Leather paint to the white leather strip.
Let dry overnight and then apply a second coat. Be sure to let it dry overnight before going on to the next step.
Create a Sizzix Sandwich as follows: Movers & Shapers Shuttle, Feather Movers & Shapers Die, the leather with the painted side down and a cutting pad on top. Pass the sandwich through the Big Shot
Now you have a perfectly cut feather cuff that you can leave as is or emboss. I decided to emboss it for extra details.
To emboss the leather you will need to create a Sizzix sandwich as follows: Magnetic Platform, Precision Base Plate, Feather Cuff with the painted side facing up and then the Thilits die on top. To secure it in place, I taped the Thinlit and leather to the Precision Base Plate. Next, add a Cutting Pad on top and pass it through the Big Shot.
Remove the Thinlit from the leather to reveal the wonderfully detailed embossing on the bracelet. Next, add the jewelry findings and you are all set!
Doesn’t it look great? I have sensitive skin and can only wear certain bracelets but this cuff bracelet doesn’t bother me a bit. It’s soft and comfortable. I love the bright gold color which goes with almost anything!
I hope you are inspired to create your own jewelry or refresh a piece of jewelry you already own with DecoArt Patent Leather paint!Happy Painting!
