Create this bright centerpiece of painted glass pieces using DecoArt® Glass Paint™ and Americana® Acrylics.

    • sandpaper
    • glass bottles (new or vintage, in any size or shape)
    • 3/4" oval brush
    • white pencil
    • wooden skewer
    • small flat brush
    • rubbing alcohol
    • brown craft paper
    • wooden slice

    1. Lightly sand the surface of the wooden slice. Using the quilt pattern provided, trace or draw onto the surface using a white-colored pencil.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Make sure the bottles are clean. Wiping down the glass surfaces with rubbing alcohol removes oil and dirt.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Decide where you want the colors to be placed on the wooden oval. Using a small flat brush, fill in the areas with Santa Red, Snow White, Bahama Blue, Moody Blue, Cactus Flower, and Cobblestone.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Paint one color at a time to minimize the chance of mixing colors. Let dry.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Paint a second coat as needed. Let dry completely. Apply Soft-Touch Varnish for a durable finish.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Mix Grey with Dijon 4:1 and paint onto three of the glass bottles using a large oval brush. Mix Turquoise and Mint 1:1 for the final bottle. Allow to dry. Paint with a second coat.
    12. Instruction #6
    13. Cut different shapes from brown craft paper.
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Accordion fold the craft paper, varying the size of the folds.
    16. Instruction #8
    17. See photo: Some of the edges will taper to give the look of a dried palm frond.
    18. Instruction #9
    19. Cut some edges of the folded paper to give a different look. (The fun of the shapes is in the experimenting.) Once you have a shape you like, use hot glue to hold the center. (I covered a wooden skewer with the craft paper as well and glued the folded pieces to the end.) Use these folded paper shapes to fill the painted bottles.
    20. Instruction #10
