Bunny Mixed Media Canvas

Create a cute mixed media bunny on a wood canvas using Chalky Finish paints
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- sandpaper
- pencil
- 3/4" flat brush
- #8 round brush
- tissue paper
- scrapbook paper
- tracing & transfer paper
- small scissors
- cosmetic sponges
- 12" x 12" basswood canvas
- oil pastels
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Use a 3/4 flat brush to paint the canvas in Rouge, let dry. Paint the next layer in Escape and immediately sprinkle with Dry Time Extender. Let set for approximately 30 minutes.
- Use a paper towel to wipe off the paint. Everywhere you sprinkled the Dry Time Extender the color from the first layer will be revealed.
- (the same process will be repeated with third layer) Use a 3/4 flat brush and paint the entire surface with Timeless and immediately sprinkle with Dry Time Extender. Let set for approximately 30 minutes.Use a paper towel to wipe off the paint. Everywhere you sprinkled the Dry Time Extender, the previous layer will be revealed.
- Randomly place stencil on the canvas and use a cosmetic sponge to dab on Rouge and Rustic. Let dry, and lightly sand for a distressed look.
- Tear tissue paper into pieces and scrunch up. Use a pencil to trace bunny pattern on burlap paper and cut out with scissors. Use a 3/4 flat brush to adhere grass/tissue paper and bunny with Matte Medium. Brush on canvas first, then seal over the top. Use a #8 round brush to add "stitches" to bunny in Rustic. Use oil pastels in blue and pink for eyes, cheeks and ears.
- Use a a dark brown oil pastel to outline the bunny (refer to finished photo)
