Chevron & Seahorse Tray

Kick off the outdoor BBQ season with a nautical theme on a serving tray.


    • palette or plastic plate
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • scissors
    • pencil
    • 1" flat brush
    • hot glue gun and glue sticks
    • wooden tray
    • wooden seahorse cutout
    • ribbon (any design) or 12" trim accents
    • 1/2" angle brush



    Remove the product label from the wooden tray before beginning project.

    Refer to the project photo for design placement.

    1. Paint the entire tray Snow White with the 1" flat brush. Let dry and apply a second coat.
    2. Lightly trace and transfer the chevron stripes onto the tray with a pencil.
    3. Paint the chevron stripes Turquoise Blue using the 1/2” angle brush.
    4. Paint the seahorse cutout Royal Fuchsia with the 1/2" angle brush; let dry.
    5. Seal the tray with DuraClear Satin Varnish with the 1" flat brush.
    6. Hot glue the seahorse to the center of the tray.
    7. Cut 12” ribbons in half; tie on the tray handles.
