SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • paper towels
    • ruler
    • pencil
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • 1/2" flat brush
    • hot glue gun and glue sticks
    • Sculpey Ultralight Clay
    • large metal thumbtacks
    • 11" x 17" unframed bulletin board

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Seal the entire bulletin board with Americana Primer & Sealer, using the 3/4" flat brush. Let dry.
    2. Use a ruler and pencil to measure out a chevron pattern on the bulletin board.
    3. Use the 1/2" flat brush and bright Americana Acrylic colors to paint wide chevron stripes, varying colors. (Each color will need at least two coats; we used Bright Orange, Cadmium Yellow, Carousel Pink, Lavender, and Sour Apple.)
    4. Spray with Americana Matte Spray Finish when paint is dry.
    5. To make custom thumbtacks, roll out Sculpey Ultralight Clay to 1/4" thickness. Cut out three medium discs and bake according to manufacturer's directions. When cool, paint with coordinating Americana Acrylics. If desired, paint flowers or other design on disks. Seal with Americana Matte Spray Finish.
    6. When dry, use hot glue gun to adhere large metal thumbtack to the back of each painted clay disc.
