Children's Star Coat Hooks

Corral those coats, jackets, and other kids’ clothing on these personalized wall hooks.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • pencil
    • #3 round brush
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • #6 flat brush
    • three wooden star hooks
    • permanent marker

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Remove the product label from the wooden hooks before beginning the project. Refer to project photo for design placement.

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Print off the patterns.
    2. Use a pencil with the tracing and transfer papers to make the chevron and stripes patterns on the hooks.
    3. On the chevron star, use the #6 flat brush with Sea Breeze to paint every other stripe and around the outer edge. Rinse brush.
    4. Use the same brush to fill in the remaining stripes with Vivid Violet.
    5. Print off the child’s name in your favorite font on the computer. Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the name on the star.
    6. Use the #3 round brush with Snow White to fill in the name.
    7. Use a black marker to outline the name and chevrons.
    8. On the stripes star, use the #6 flat brush to paint every other stripe and around the outer edge in Bright Orange. Rinse brush.
    9. Use the same brush with Citron Green for the remaining stripes.
    10. Add the child's name to the striped star as in steps 5 and 6.
    11. Use the marker to fill in the name and outline the stripes.
    12. On the polka dot star, use the 3/4” flat brush with Ocean Blue to paint the whole star.
    13. Add the child's name as in steps 5 and 6.
    14. Use a marker to fill in the name.
    15. Use the handle end of the #6 flat brush dipped in Bubblegum Pink to make random polka dots all over the star.
