Christmas Candy Train

Bring new life to a child’s toy as a unique dish for holiday candies with Americana® Acrylics.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- pencil
- #2 round brush
- #6 flat brush
- #12 flat brush
- #1 liner brush
- wooden train
INSTRUCTIONS
- Use a #12 flat brush to basecoat the engine Santa Red, avoiding the funnel, stripes, and nose of the train. Rinse brush.
- Use the #6 flat brush with Marigold to paint the tip of the funnel and nose of the train. Rinse brush.
- Use the #12 flat brush to mix (1) part Snow White with (1) part Lamp Black. Use the mix to paint the roof of the engine. Rinse brush. Use the same mix with a #2 round brush to paint stripes.
- Use the #12 flat brush with Snow White to paint the train wheels. Rinse brush.
- Use the handle end of the #1 liner brush dipped in Snow White to dot the Snow White/Lamp Black stripes. Wipe off the brush handle.
- Trace and transfer the peppermint wheels using the tracing and transfer papers and a pen or pencil.
- Use the #2 round brush to mix (1) part Snow White with (1) part Santa Red. Use the mix to fill in the peppermint design. Rinse brush. Use the #1 liner brush dipped in Santa Red to outline the Snow White/Santa Red area and add the line in between each. Rinse brush.
- Use the #12 flat brush to basecoat the next carriage Indian Turquoise. Rinse brush
- Use the same brush to paint inside of the carriage Santa Red. Rinse brush.
- Use the same brush with Snow White to paint wheels. Let dry completely.
- Trace and transfer the design onto the carriage and wheels.
- Use the #6 flat brush to basecoat the candy canes Snow White. Rinse the brush and use the same with Santa Red to paint stripes on the candy canes. Rinse brush.
- Use the #1 liner brush with Indian Turquoise to paint the design on the wheels. Rinse brush.
- Use the #12 flat brush to basecoat the next carriage Citron Green. Rinse brush.
- Use the same brush with Carousel Pink to basecoat the inside of the carriage. Rinse brush.
- Use the same brush to basecoat the wheels Snow White. Rinse brush. Let completely dry.
- With tracing and transfer papers and a pencil or pen, trace and transfer the gum drops and wheel design.
- Use the #6 flat brush to paint gumdrops using: Carousel Pink, Cadmium Yellow, Lamp Black, Santa Red, Kelly Green, Purple Cow, and Bright Orange. Rinse the brush before switching colors and when finished.
- Use the #2 round brush with Kelly Green to paint peppermint on the wheels. Rinse brush.
- Use the #1 liner brush with Citron Green to outline Kelly Green and add a line in the middle. Rinse brush.
