How to paint a color wheel starting with just three colors.
SUPPLIES

- black Sharpie® marker
- spoon
- canvas
- disposable cups
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
If you want to create a large color wheel canvas such as this one, we recommend using 16 fl. oz. jars of True Red, True Blue, and Bright Yellow American Acrylic Paints.
- Visually, this project works best with a square canvas. I used a 24"x24" Artist's Loft canvas from Michaels, but any size square canvas will work.
- Get 12 disposable cups . (TIP: Clear works well because you can see if you have mixed the colors.) Refer to the attached pattern: "color wheel mixing chart". Use a sharpie to label the cups with each color name. (12 total) Use a spoon to scoop out the paint into the cups. Follow the mixing chart ratios to scoop the appropriate amount of paint colors into each cup.
- Once all colors are mixed, plan the placement of the colors by setting the cups on the canvas. (TIP: Again, refer to color wheel mixing chart for placement.)
- Slowly pour the colors onto the canvas and try to create circles of a uniform size. Allow to dry flat.
- Easy color wheel art is a great wall decor piece and a wonderful creative reference using our popular art and craft paint Americana Acrylics.
