    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • rubbing alcohol
    • #0 liner brush
    • cosmetic sponge
    • craft knife
    • glass cylinder
    • cardstock

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Preparation: Clean the glass cylinder with rubbing alcohol. Allow to dry completely before painting.
    2. Trace and transfer the small and large shapes onto cardstock. Use a craft knife to carefully cut out shapes to create stencils.
    3. Position the chick body stencil on the glass cylinder. While holding the stencil down with one hand, use a cosmetic sponge to pounce color of your choice inside the open area of the stencil. Repeat around the cylinder, alternating position and colors. Repeat for opaque coverage. Let dry.
    4. Position the chick wing stencil shape and use a cosmetic sponge to pounce contrasting colors for a wing on each chick.
    5. Use a #0 liner brush to paint the legs, feet, and beaks; add stripes as desired.
    6. Use the handle end of the liner brush to add dots and eyes.
    7. Allow the cylinder to cure for 21 days or bake using following instructions: Allow the painted item to dry for 48 hours. Place it in a cool oven. Heat the oven to 325 degrees. Bake for 30 minutes. Turn off the oven and crack the open door. Allow to cool completely before removing the painted item from the oven.
