Cowgirl Lucky Horsehoe Frame

Turn a simple frame into the perfect accent for a horse lover with Americana® Decou-Page™.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- sandpaper
- scissors
- ruler
- pencil
- painter's tape
- 3/4" flat brush
- cosmetic sponge
- wooden frame
- #1 round brush
- 1 piece of scrapbook paper
- lettering stencil
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Sand the frame surface and remove any debris with a paper towel.
- Place the patterned paper on the work surface with the blank side facing up. Place the frame front side down onto the paper and use a pencil to trace the frame outline.
- Cut out the patterned paper.
- Paint the sides of frame in Calypso Blue. Apply Paper Decou-Page to the surface.
- Position the cut patterned paper and remove any wrinkles or bubbles. Apply another coat of Decou-Page on top of the paper.
- Using painter's tape, tape off a 2" x 6" rectangle. Paint it Slate Grey.
- Using the desired lettering stencil, apply Boysenberry Pink with a cosmetic sponge.
- Repeat for the rest of the desired lettering, allowing to dry between letters.
- Free-hand a horseshoe shape in Baby Pink.
- Outline and add details to the horseshoe in Boysenberry Pink.
- Use the handle end of the brush to apply dots in Calypso Blue.
- Slightly sand the frame edges to get rid of any loose edges and add a distressed look.
