    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Using a pry bar, pull off the top two slats of the front of the large wooden crate. Use Americana Wood Filler to fill in the remaining holes. (Slightly over-fill the holes.) Let dry completely.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Sand Wood Filler and the entire crate until completely smooth. (This may take several varying grits of sandpaper.)
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Mix together (2) parts Night Sky with (1) part True Blue. Use the mix to paint both outside ends of the crate as well as the top slat on the front. Save the mix for later steps.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Paint the inside ends of the crate in Cotton Ball. Paint the rest of the crate in Cactus using a 3/4" flat brush.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Transfer the provided pattern to both ends of the crate using white transfer paper.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Apply a basecoat to the entire cat: You can change the colors to make a personalized cat or follow these colors: Cotton Ball for the body, face, and tip of tail; Ballerina for the nose and ears; Dark Scarlet for the bandanna; Dolphin for the rest of the cat body; Black Tie for the pupils and beret; and Apple Green for the eyes. Use a #6 round brush.
    12. Instruction #6
    13. Using the #6 round brush, paint small dots of Pewter and Cotton Ball throughout the face for added texture. Slowly blend the colors. Mix Dark Scarlet with a small amount of Black Tie and add a line under the nose using a liner brush. Use the liner brush and Black Tie to add the mouth and whisker dots. Paint the shirt stripes in Black Tie. Outline the eyes in Black Tie with a #6 round brush. Use the liner brush to add dots of Cotton Ball to the eyes.
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Paint the fish bones as a pattern in the background. Use the #6 round brush in Cotton Ball. (The fish can face different directions and slightly vary in size.) Let dry.
    16. Instruction #8
    17. Once the fish are dry, use the handle end of the same brush to dot the eyes of the fish in the mix from step 3.
    18. Instruction #9
    19. Wrap rope or twine around the top slat on the back of the crate. Use E6000 Glue or hot glue to keep this in place.
    20. Instruction #10
    21. Transfer or freehand the cat's name onto the front Night Sky/True Blue slat. Using the #6 round brush, paint in the name with Cotton Ball.
    22. Instruction #11
    23. Measure and tape off 2" stripes along the inside ends of the crate. Using the 3/4" flat brush, paint the stripes in Pewter. Let dry.
    24. Once dry, insert a pillow of choice that fits the crate.
    25. Instruction #13
    26. Paint the small square wooden frame in the mix from step 3, using a 3/4" flat brush.
    27. Instruction #14
    28. Repeat the fish bone pattern on the frame using Cotton Ball and a #6 round brush.
    29. Instruction #15
    30. Cut a piece of carpet or other material to fit the inside back of the frame. Use E6000 Glue or hot glue to adhere the material into the backing to make a cat scratching frame. Apply a hanging device of choice.
