Taxes are inevitable, so get a start on organizing for them with this useful and colorful box.

SUPPLIES

• water container
• palette or plastic plate
• paper towels
• tracing paper
• transfer paper
• pencil
• #3 round brush
• #2 round brush
• 3/4" flat brush
• white photo box

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Transfer the outer shape of the word art pattern onto the box lid using the tracing and transfer papers and the pencil. Transfer the front of the box design around the metal file slot.
2. Using the 3/4" flat brush, fill in the outer shape and paint the bottom of the box with Muted Gold. (Refer to photo for placement.) Paint around the Muted Gold shape with Blue Lagoon and the 3/4" flat brush.
3. Use the word pattern again to transfer all of the type onto the top of the box.
4. Fill in the front of the box design with the #3 round brush and Flamingo.
5. Using the #2 round brush, outline the Muted Gold shape with Flamingo and outline the front of the box shape with Eggplant.
6. Using the #2 round brush, add Eggplant dots around the Flamingo outline. Paint in the word "earnings", "net", and the flower with Eggplant.
7. Using the 3/4" flat brush and Flamingo, fill in the box that will say "receipts." Using the #2 round brush with the same color, make the swirl design at the tip of the word art and fill in the word "profit."
8. With Red Barn and the #2 round brush, fill in the word "income" and the exclamation point. Use the same color and brush to fill in the lines by the word "net" and add tiny dots to the bottom swirl designs.
9. Fill in the oval using the #3 round brush and Pumpkin Patch. Using the #2 round brush, fill in the bottom swirls with Pumpkin Patch.
10. Using the #3 round brush and Flamingo, fill in the shape around the metal slot and make the wiggly stripe in the exclamation mark.
11. Mix a little White Birch into Flamingo and, using the #2 round brush, make polka dots in the Flamingo square and stripes in the word "profit" and in the Flamingo shape on the front of the box.
12. Using the #2 round brush and Blue Lagoon, paint the word "Receipts" in the Flamingo square. With the same brush and color, add stripes to the word "net" and a shadow to the word "profit"; add dots around the Pumpkin Patch oval; and fill in the flower stem and leaves. Also make dashes by the exclamation point and add dots and dashes to the front of the box.
13. Add a touch of White Birch to Eggplant. With the mix and the #2 round brush, add dots to the word "earnings."
14. Mix a little White Birch with Pumpkin Patch. With this mix and the #2 round brush, add stripes to the Pumpkin Patch oval.
15. With the #2 round brush and Eggplant, add the words "tax time."
