    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • scissors
    • #6 round brush
    • 1" foam brush
    • chipboard heart
    • white glue
    • watercolor paper
    • permanent marker
    • twine
    • black pen
    • spray bottle
    • detail brush
    • metal label
    • papier mâché house

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Paint the entire house surface with White Gesso.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. With Americana Matte Decou-Page and a foam brush, glue down a piece of Moroccan Americana Decou-Page Paper on each side of the house, as desired. Brush over the paper on each side to make sure the paper is secure and has no air bubbles.
    4. Using White Gesso and a foam brush, apply the windows and door on one side.
    5. Instruction #3
    6. Paint a flower of White Gesso on one side.
    7. Instruction #4
    8. Paint a large window with White Gesso on the final side. (Leave one side of the house empty for wording.)
    9. Instruction #5
    10. Paint a door shape with Cerulean Blue. Add a doorknob with a touch of Quinacridone Magenta using a detail brush.
    11. Choose a word phrase and print out. Cut out the words. Adhere words to the side of the house using Decou-Page.
    12. Place a drop of Hansa Yellow Medium, Cerulean Blue, Quinacridone Magenta, and Titanium White on a palette. Lay a small piece of watercolor paper down on a paper towel. Dip the round brush in water and mix it in one of the colors so it is a tad watery. Splatter the colors, one at a time, onto the watercolor paper. Lightly spray with a spray bottle immediately after each color to create a watercolor effect. Apply a layer of Liquid Glass to the surface.
    13. With the metal labels, take the water-colored paper from the previous step and cut it out to fit behind the metal label. (It should look like a stained glass window.) Glue them on with white glue.
    14. Adhere the windows on either side of the door using Decou-Page.
    15. Paint in the picture window using Hansa Yellow Medium and dab with a wet paper towel to add a bit of layered color. Using Quinacridone Magenta and detail brush, paint scallops around this window.
    16. On the fourth side of the house, paint in the flower with Hansa Yellow Medium and Quinacridone Magenta. Once dry, add doodles around the flower with black permanent marker.
    17. Instruction #12
    18. Put a few drops of Cerulean Blue and Dark Grey Value 3 onto the palette, mix together, and paint the roof of the house using a foam brush. After this dries, add a touch of Cerulean Blue around the edges of the roof.
    19. Instruction #13
    20. With Titanium White and a round brush, water down paint just a little to be able to flick paint all over the entire house.
    21. Apply White Gesso to both sides and around the edges of the five chipboard cut-out hearts.
    22. Using the same watery palette and round brush from the watercolor paper in step 7, splatter the colors one at a time onto the chipboard hearts.
    23. Instruction #16
    24. With a black ink pen, outline the windows, doors, words of the phrase, and flower on the house.
    25. Paint the inside of the house with Hansa Yellow Medium and a foam brush.
    26. Write a word across a few hearts. Tie twine around the other hearts and use these to write names of other loves or other words that bring you the comfort of home.
