Distressed Chalky Finish Night Stand

Distressed Chalky Finish Night Stand

This nightstand was destined for the dumpster. The original black color was dated and looked depressing but the detail on the front showed it had promise. A little bit of Chalky Finish could save the day.

Items Needed:

Wipe off any dust or grime with a damp paper towel.

Use your finger to apply a little petroleum jelly or paraffin over dimensional areas and around the edges. Hit the spots where normal wearing would occur.

Use the 2" chip brush to paint the entire night stand with Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Treasure. Allow the piece to dry completely.

Lightly sand over the areas where you see the petroleum jelly or paraffin and then wipe down again with a damp paper towel. You should see the dark color showing through.

Apply the Ultra Matte Varnish with the 3/4" flat brush to seal the entire pieces. Rinse your brush and you are through!
