This table, with colorful triangles and distressed finish, can even work outside on the porch or patio.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- paper towels
- sandpaper
- ruler
- pencil
- painter's tape
- #2 round brush
- 3/4" flat brush
- small wooden table
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Wipe down the table with a damp paper towel.
- Use a pencil and ruler to make a border around the perimeter of the table top.
- Place painter's tape down to mask off the center section of the table top.
- Use the ruler and pencil to make seven even rows vertically and five rows horizontally. In each square, draw a diagonal line to create a triangle.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush to paint the triangles in any order using: Treasure, Delicate, Everlasting, Yesteryear, Refreshing, and Smitten. (The painter's tape helps here to mask off the specific triangles you are painting.)
- Remove the tape and let the table top dry completely.
- Add painter's tape to mask off the area to paint the border without getting into the center section.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush with Primitive to paint the entire border. Remove the tape. Let dry completely.
- Use a #2 round brush with Relic to paint a thin border where the center section meets the outer border. Let dry completely.
- Once it is dry, use sandpaper to distress the table top as much or little as you would like. Wipe dust off with a damp paper towel.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush to seal the table top and edges with Ultra-Matte Varnish.
