DIY Valentine's Day Crafts | Unicorn Box

Store those Valentine's cards in this whimsical box made with Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

water container
palette or plastic plate
paper towels
tracing paper
transfer paper
sandpaper
scissors
3/4" flat brush
#6 flat brush
hot glue gun and glue sticks
#1 liner brush
Styrofoam cone
#1 round brush
cardstock
pen or pencil
scrapbook paper
cigar box
wooden heart

INSTRUCTIONS

Clean and dry the cigar or wooden box.

Instruction #1

Use a 3/4" flat brush and Snow White to paint the entire outside of the box. Rinse brush.

Instruction #2

Use a pencil or a pen and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the unicorn face onto the box.
Use a 3/4" flat brush and Melon to paint the unicorn's muzzle. Rinse brush.

Instruction #4

Use the #6 flat brush to mix (1) part Poodleskirt Pink with (1) part Melon. Use the mix to paint on the cheeks. Rinse brush. Save the mix for a future step.

Instruction #5

Use the #6 flat brush and Sea Breeze to paint two wooden hearts. Rinse brush.

Instruction #6

Use the #1 round brush and Sea Breeze to paint the nostrils. Rinse brush.

Instruction #7

Use the #1 liner brush and Lamp Black to outline the nostrils and eyes and to add the smile. Rinse brush.

Instruction #8

Use the 3/4" flat brush and Ice Crystal to go over the entire outer box. Repeat as needed. Rinse brush.

Instruction #9

Fold a piece of white cardstock in half.

Instruction #10

Use a pencil or pen and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the ears to the white cardstock.

Instruction #11

Use scissors to cut out the ears.

Instruction #12

Use the #6 flat brush and the mix from step 5 to fill in the inner ear sections. Rinse brush.

Instruction #13

Use the #1 liner brush and Sea Breeze to make tiny hearts on the insides of both ears. Rinse brush.

Instruction #14

Use a hot glue gun to adhere the ears and hearts on the cheeks.

Instruction #15

Lightly sand the top and bottom of the Styrofoam cone. Wipe off any loose Styrofoam.

Instruction #16

Pour a bottle of Silver Craft Twinkles onto the cone and and brush it all over until the cone is fully coated. Let dry completely.

Instruction #17

Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the mane sections onto different colored scrapbook paper or cardstock. Use scissors to cut them out.

Instruction #18

Use the #6 flat brush and Melon to paint half of the pink mane. Rinse brush. Use the #1 liner brush with Melon to add hair detail. Continue on the matching paper manes with Sea Breeze, Pineapple, and Wild Orchid. Rinse brush before switching colors and at the end.

Instruction #19

Use a glue gun to adhere the mane sections to the top and back of the head. Glue layers together where the colors overlap.

Instruction #20

Glue the cone horn onto the top of the box.

Shipping Guidelines:

For US orders shipped via Ground, please allow 6 to 10 business days from the time of order for processing and delivery.

For 2nd Day shipping (US only), please allow 2 to 4 business days from the time of order for processing and delivery. (Note that aerosol sprays will not be shipped via 2nd Day.)

Delivery of items offered in our online store is limited to an address in the United States including U.S. territories, Alaska, and Hawaii. Shipments cannot be delivered to PO Boxes.

Pricing:

Orders totalling over $50 that are being shipped to the US will have the option for free UPS ground shipping (excluding Puerto Rico, Alaska, and Hawaii).

**Free shipping will not be applicable on any orders containing aerosol spray cans as they are considered hazardous by our shipping providers.

Items purchased will be charged at the sales price indicated at the time of purchase. Prices are continuously updated and are subject to change. Past orders will not be updated to reflect later prices. Pricing is always in US dollars.

Clearance Products:

Items offered at clearance pricing are available only while supplies last. Should a clearance item be no longer available, e-mail notification will be sent identifying the cancelled item. Your credit card will not be charged for any item not shipped.

Return Requirements

Products must be returned to DecoArt within 60 days of receipt.
Product must be returned in original condition and bottle/package.
Customer is responsible for return shipping costs. DecoArt will pay for shipping costs if the return is a result of our error.

Initialising a Return

If you have an account and purchased an item from the DecoArt website:

Sign into your store account.
Access the Order tab, click on the order, locate the item you wish to return and hit “Return Item” button
Complete the Return Items form and click Submit.
After completing the request, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your request. Simultaneously, a notification email is delivered to the email address specified in your Store Profile Settings with updated status of your request.
Someone from our DecoArt team will respond to your request by the next business day. We may request additional information, such as batch codes, product photos, etc. to properly service your request.
If a product needs to be returned, someone on our DecoArt team will instruct you on the return process.
You will receive an email notification every time the return status changes.

To better assist you in resolving your request in a timely manner, please include the following information:
