SUPPLIES
- water container
- paper towels
- stylus or pencil
- sandpaper
- ruler
- painter's tape
- cosmetic sponge
- 3/8" flat brush
INSTRUCTIONS
- Measure off 1/2 inch stripes all over the top of the book stand with a ruler and pencil. Wrap the stripes around the edge of the top.
- Fill in half of the stripes with Lace using the 3/8" flat brush. Wrap the painted stripes around the edge.
- With Timeless, fill in the rest of the stripes on the top using the 3/8" flat brush. Wrap the painted stripes around the edge.
- Using the 3/4" flat brush, paint the middle of the stand with Relic.
- Paint the bottom of the stand with Timeless and the 3/4" flat brush.
- Decide how to place the Brocade Motif stencil. My stencil was a little long so I put painter's tape over the areas I didn't want to use. Attach the stencil to the top using painter's tape.
- Attach the Traditional Medallion stencil to both corners of the top using painter's tape. If you only have one stencil, you will have to do one at a time.
- Using the cosmetic sponge, lightly stamp Relic over your stencils.
- Remove the stencils and distress the piece with sandpaper paying extra attention to the edges.
