    • palette or plastic plate
    • stylus or pencil
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • scissors
    • 1" flat brush
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • 1/2" flat brush
    • black fine point marker
    • brown paper bag
    • canvas
    • brown ink pad
    • palette knife
    • paper flowers
    • sticky notes

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Create a mix of Primary Cyan with Titan Buff and/or White Gesso. Use a 1" flat brush to apply to the canvas.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Transfer the dress pattern to the brown paper bag. Mix Pyrrole Orange with White Gesso. Paint the dress with a 1/2" flat brush and the mix; cut out. Save mix for later step.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Crumple the dress and unfold. Use Matte Medium to adhere the dress to the desired area of the canvas; apply another coat of Matte Medium on top of the dress. Transfer the body and stand portion of the pattern onto the canvas. Mix a small amount of Burnt Sienna with Titan Buff to paint the body. Use straight Burnt Sienna for the shadows.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Using a 3/4" flat brush, add more color to background: To lighten up the background, mix a small amount of Primary Cyan with White Gesso. Paint in some spaces and dab the brush in several spots to add color instead of a smooth stroke. Add more Primary Cyan to the Primary Cyan/White Gesso mix from step 2 and shade around the dress. Use Pyrrole Orange to add shading to the dress.
    8. Add shadows and the stand using Payne's Grey. Gently rub a brown ink pad over the dress.
    9. Instruction #5
    10. Optional: Use sticky notes to mask off the areas of the Americana Dandelion Stencil to avoid getting Modeling Paste on them.
    11. Instruction #6
    12. Use a palette knife to evenly spread Modeling Paste over the Dandelion Stencil. Gently scrape off the excess Modeling Paste using the palette knife. Carefully lift the stencil to reveal pattern. Repeat to achieve the desired background.
    13. Instruction #7
    14. Adhere paper flowers to the bottom right corner of the dress.
    15. Instruction #8
    16. Doodle stems for the dandelions using a fine tip black marker.
    17. Instruction #9
