Easter Decoration Trio

Easter is just around the corner so welcome it with this 3-piece decoration made with Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics.


    • sandpaper
    • hot glue gun
    • sheet of clear vinyl
    • Styrofoam cone
    • dried Spanish moss
    • slanted roof wooden birdhouse
    • papier mâché egg
    • stencils
    • wooden candlestick
    • embellishment
    • paintbrushes
    • Cricut machine
    • glass container


    1. Paint the large candlestick; the main portion and desired detail of the birdhouse; and a few eggs of each size using Shrimp. Let dry completely.

    3. Paint the birdhouse roof and a few eggs of each size using Soft Jade. Paint another few eggs of each size using Cactus. Let all dry completely.

    5. Paint the birdhouse perch, the small candlestick, and a few eggs of each size using Chick.

    7. Apply the vinyl stencil, cut with a Cricut machine, to the birdhouse. Or find stencils to embellish. (See photo.)

    9. Paint the open areas of the stencils on the birdhouse using Cotton Ball. Let dry completely.

    11. Use a dry-brushing technique to distress the large candlestick using Cotton Ball.

    13. Remove the stencils from the birdhouse and distress lightly using a piece of sandpaper.

    15. Apply an ample amount of hot glue to the top of the small candlestick. Position in the center of the bottom of the birdhouse and apply pressure until secure.

    17. Attach Spanish moss to the Styrofoam cone using a glue gun.

    19. Start positioning and gluing painted eggs in place, distributing egg colors and sizes as evenly as possible. (Reserve a few eggs to place in the glass container and at the bottom of the birdhouse display.)

    21. Continue until the desired look is achieved.

    23. Attach wire and any other embellishments. Stick the wire into the Styrofoam cone and twist to the desired position. End the wire by sticking it back into the cone.

    25. Place the wire around birdhouse. Place some Spanish moss and the reserved eggs in the glass container.
