Farmer's Market Apron and Jar Set

Outfit yourself and your kitchen with this painted apron and jar set, celebrating the harvest.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- pencil
- 1" chip brush
- Mason jars
- 3/4" flat brush
- #8 round brush
- canvas apron
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
When referring to the Mason jars, use Americana Chalky Finish for Glass. When referring to the apron, use Americana Decor Chalky Finish paint.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush to paint the middle of the jars in Primitive. Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the top and bottom (one of each color) in Heritage, New Life, and a 2:1 mix of Romance and Primitive. Save the mix for future steps. Paint loosely; no perfectly straight lines required.
- Use a 1" chip brush to dry-brush the top and bottom portion of all three jars in Primitive.
- Use a pencil to draw the patterns onto the jars. Use a #8 round brush to paint the the pear preserves jar design in New Life; the pumpkin butter jar design in Heritage; and the strawberry jam design using the Romance/Primitive mix from step one. Using a #8 round brush, add highlights in Primitive and Everlasting to the fruit.
- Using a #8 round brush, paint a line of Everlasting on the top and bottom of the "label". Using a liner brush, paint dotted lines over the Everlasting lines on all three Mason jars. Using a liner brush, loosely outline the pear and paint the eyes and mouth in Relic. Using a #8 round brush, paint the cheeks in the Romance/Primitive mix from step one.
- Using a liner brush, loosely outline the pumpkin and paint the eyes and mouth in Relic. Using a #8 round brush, paint the cheeks in the Romance/Primitive mix from step one.
- Using a liner brush, loosely outline the strawberry and paint the eyes and mouth in Relic. Using a #8 round brush, paint the cheeks in the Romance/Primitive mix from step one.
- For the apron, use the same pattern, but enlarge to pocket size. Use a pencil to draw the pattern onto the canvas apron. Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the strawberry in a 2:1 mix of Romance and Primitive and the pumpkin in Heritage. Save mix for future steps. Use a #8 round brush to add highlights in Primitive and Everlasting. Use a #8 round brush to paint the greens in New Life. Use a #8 round brush to loosely outline both.
- Use a #8 round brush to paint the strawberry's eyes and mouth in Relic. Use a #8 round brush to paint the cheeks with the Romance/Primitive mix from step 7 with a small amount of Everlasting to lighten the color.
- Use a #8 round brush to paint the pumpkin's eyes and mouth in Relic. Use a #8 round brush to paint the cheeks with the Romance/Primitive mix from step 7.
- Use a #8 round brush to paint the edges of the apron in Everlasting.
- Use a liner brush to paint dotted lines over the Everlasting in Relic. Use a #8 round brush to randomly free-hand words of your choice associated with farmer's market in all three colors: New Life, Heritage, and the Romance/Primitive mix from step 7.
