Faux Embossed Easter Egg Painting

Create an Easter decoration with style in an easy-to-do canvas, featuring a decorated egg.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • stylus or pencil
    • ruler
    • 1" flat brush
    • staple gun
    • hot glue gun
    • 1/4" flat brush
    • ribbon
    • 8" x 10" canvas
    • graphite pencil

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Print off the egg pattern, turn the image over, and coat the outline with a graphite pencil. Place the image (lead side down) in the desired location on the canvas. Trace the outline with a pencil.
    2. Draw the desired pattern on the egg using a pencil. Draw a line 1" under the egg using a ruler. Write “Happy Easter” or desired text you would like.

    4. Use a 3D Opaque Gloss Enamel Writer to go over the outlined patterns and font. (Festive Green is shown here, but any color will work. )

    6. Using a 1” flat brush, paint inside the egg and slightly outside of the egg in Pistachio Mint. Apply a second coat if needed.
    7. Using a 1/4" flat brush, outline the outside of the egg using Chick. (Be careful to only get the outside of the egg.)

    9. Using a 1” flat brush, paint the rest of the canvas, including the sides, in Chick. Apply a second coat if needed.

    11. Thin Bittersweet with a small amount of water. Brush over the entire canvas.

    13. Immediately wipe back with a paper towel or soft cloth.

    15. Position a length of ribbon of your choice at the top two corners of the canvas. Secure with staples or glue. Make two ribbon bows and adhere over the ribbon ends at the corners.
