"Fireflies" Painted Planner

    • #12 flat brush
    • #1 round brush
    • grey transfer paper
    • pen or pencil
    • journal



    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Gather supplies. You will need a journal of choice, brushes, pencil, grey transfer paper, and your favorite fluid acrylic colors:Cobalt Blue Hue, Cobalt Turquoise Hue, Titanium White, Primary Yellow, Prussian Blue Hue, Phthalo Green-Blue, Vividan Green Hue, Phthalo Turquoise, Green Gold, and Matte Medium.

    3. Use a flat brush to paint the large oval in the center using Primary Yellow and Titanium White. As you paint further out blend in the other blues and greens making the edges the darkest colors. Rinse brush. Use the darker green and blue to paint grass at the bottom. Rinse brush.

    5. Use a round brush to water down the colors making the most faint trees in the background. As you get closer to the foreground add less water. Paint trees. Rinse brush.

    7. Use a small round brush to paint on leaves using different blue and green mixes. Rinse brush.

    9. Use a pen or pencil to transfer the "fireflies..." quote. Use a round and flat brush to paint on the quote using the lighter colors that will show up over the wooded area. Rinse brush.
